August 23, 2006 – WSJ.com Opinion Journal: The Fertility Gap – Liberal Politics will prove fruitless as long as liberals refuse to multiply Perhaps this is why my mother brought up the topic of “more grandchildren” recently. Alright, get cracking, Alan, Bart, Ben, brimful, Chai, D, Dave, Jeffrey, John, Julie, Loki, Oodles, Oyster, Saheli, Schroeder and txyankee. Thus spake the GDI.

Those who have more than one kid need not apply.
I find this amusing for what are the odds of one’s kids having the same poltical inclination?
August 23, 2006 at 12:22 pm
Oh man, if only I’d known this when I was a teenager and screaming at my parents that I couldn’t possibly be theirs and must have been adopted.
“Oh yeah? Then….WHY AM I A LIBERAL, MOM??”

Dammit! Our secret is out!!
August 23, 2006 at 3:34 pm
More blogger spawn? Loki is shuddering. Btw, my parents were Repubs…
August 23, 2006 at 3:44 pm
Seriously, my parents/family are the last influence on my politics. Mom’s a Kennedy Democrat, but fiscally conservative. Dad’s pretty much apolitical, but can’t stand the war in Iraq and is also fiscally conservative. My brother is … who knows … but thinks both parties are a bunch of lying thieves and that it all comes down to market forces.
Can’t you imagine Loki Jr., ranting in Alexis’s arms? I can.

Are you saying you’re ready Maitri
BTW, shouldn’t we also be trying to disrupt the lineage of Republicans by spawning their children and indoctrinating them with good liberal ideals?
August 23, 2006 at 5:47 pm
Schroeder, kindly notice my name wasn’t on the Get Your Mojo On list.
(Speaking of which, I have a different kind of sugar for you. Call me post RT conference.)
Kids are almost invariably going to be the opposite of what their parents so badly want them to be.

Alas, Conservative voices insured that I could never propagate when I was a wee one.
Doesn’t matter, I have ways to lure others to the Progressive side of the Force.

Honestly, I shudder at the thought of a mini-Loki. I’ll vote for a mini-Lex though!

“Schroeder, kindly notice my name wasn’t on the Get Your Mojo On list.”
So, how exactly would you prefer I go about this??? Is there someone else I should bless with the fruit of my loins???!

Immaculate Male Conception.
The wave of the future.
August 24, 2006 at 12:21 pm
Now, y’all *know* I’ve done my part, comrades.
August 24, 2006 at 12:21 pm
Oh, and you put Oyster on the list. Heh heh heh.
August 24, 2006 at 12:30 pm
But, Z needs a sibling. Let the Oysterlets abound.
